Hx2 hybrid upgrade for WHOV-FM

Virginia’s historic WHOV-FM is one of many radio broadcasters who have upgraded to the Telos Hx2 digital phone hybrid.

As the voice of Hampton University in Hampton Roads, Virginia, WHOV had its beginnings in 1941 as a carrier current station, but in 1964 ‘HOV became the first educational FM station licensed to a historically Black college. Today, WHOV broadcasts Jazz and Gospel music 24 hours a day, enhancing audience participation with their Telos Hx2 digital telephone interface.

“Stations love the Hx hybrids,” notes Telos product manager Joe Talbot. “It is an inexpensive and immediate caller audio improvement that works with existing phone setups, without modification.”

The dual-hybrid Hx2 is packed with new hybrid technology – the most advanced Telos digital signal processing ever. Hx hybrids bring even the most unruly mobile phone audio into submission. Audio processing from Omnia automatically manages levels and EQ. Built-in autoanswer, caller disconnect detection, ingenious audio-leveling and anti-feedback routines for enhanced open speaker studio applications, call screening and line-hold features, front-panel send, receive audio metering and an internal universal power supply are all standard on the Hx hybrids.

The Hx is a part of the Telos broadcast telephony line, the world’s most trusted family of singleline hybrids and multi-line phone systems.
