Many of us in the business grew up during the golden age of Top 40 radio, and still recall fondly the surveys, playlists and other ephemera that surround the era. Tim Warden, an IT consultant based in Tucson, has a thing for those old AM surveys as well - and has put a site up to collect and share them.
The Airheads Radio Survey Archive is a huge (although by no means complete - how could it be?) collection of both printed and transcribed playlists from stations around the nation, searchable by calls. The site boasts over 18,000 surveys scanned so far! You can even search songs and labels for chart information. If you're a Top 40 junkie, this site is sure to eat up quite a few of your late-night hours.
"And the hits... just keep on comin'!"
