Hope Media Upgrade with VOLT and ARC
Quarantined radio and TV audiences are demanding more and more from broadcasters in terms of audio quality; audiences want sounds as clear and consistent as the pictures they see on screen. And so it was that Hope Media, one of Kenya’s largest Christian broadcast networks, sought to update their FM radio and digital TV on-air sound.

Ask the Omnia Guy: How Do I Know if It's an MP3?
Dear Omnia Guy,
My music director just downloaded a brand-new song from a record label. She swears it’s a WAV file. It sounds awful. We are using an Omnia.6 audio processor. Is there any way I can tell if a piece of audio was ever an MP3? A plugin or a program?

Video: Omnia MPX Node - FM Translator
Broadcasters have several options for feeding audio to their FM translators. One new option is the Omnia MPX Node, sending the fully processed Composite (MPX) stereo signal over modest IP links. Here's a quick look at a small FM translator with bit-perfect digital audio provided by the Omnia MPX Node. At the originating station, the OmniaSST FM processor prepares the audio, then encodes the Composite MPX signal using Omnia µMPX technology. Transported by Public Internet, this µMPX IP stream arrives at the translator site and is decoded by an Omnia MPX Node. It's output is a perfectly clean and fully processed FM MPX signal for the transmitter's MPX input.

Video: Omnia MPX Node - Dual-Path IP
Broadcasters expect five 9's of uptime for their on-air signals, and that implies even higher reliability from each part of the air chain. As we shift to IP connections for our signal chains, we must plan for reliability there, as well. Dual-path IP connections are a proven way to obtain virtually perfect uptime. Now Omnia MPX Nodes offer dual-path IP connectivity right out of the box.

The Whole Origin Story of Audio Over IP - Greg Shay, CTO Telos Alliance
It is not that often that your inner monologue, history as you remember it, is of interest to others. On this occasion of being awarded a technical Emmy by the television industry for the Development of Synchronized Multi-channel Uncompressed Audio Transport Over IP Networks, I wanted to share the story, the whole story from my point of view, of how this came to be at Telos Alliance.
Any story worth reading is worth telling well, so please forgive my somewhat loose writing style and enjoy the ride, as I have over these 24 years.
So, kiddies, set your PTP way-back machine to 1996. (Oh wait..., that was before PTP was invented....!)
