Omnia, Axia Announce Major Product Launches in Advance of NAB 2017

Never content to take our position as industry leader for granted, the Telos Alliance this week announced two new game-changing broadcast technologies in the lead-up to the broadcast industry's largest trade show. The Omnia VOLT™, a versatile new 1RU broadcast audio processor, and the Livewire+ AES67 IP-Audio Driver, the first AES67-compliant IP Driver, represent our continued innovation and dedication to providing the dynamic broadcast tools the industry is asking for. Both products will have a major impact on their respective market segments, and will make their debut at NAB 2017, next week at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Omnia VOLT

High-Performance Omnia Sound in Just 1RU

Inspired by top-of-the-line Omnia processors like the Omnia.11, the new Omnia VOLT offers more functionality and versatility in one rack unit than ever before, including G-Force style dynamics for an open yet consistent sound, and a brand-new clipper that's loud yet super clean.

Additionally, Omnia VOLT's new QuickTweak system builds on years of processing knowledge and proven methods to provide a set of controls that can turn even a novice broadcaster into an audio processing expert. Find your signature sound in minutes using Omnia's presets or your own settings, right from the front panel or a PC.

V for VOLT ... and Versatility

The incredibly versatile VOLT uses DSP|Core firmware, allowing broadcasters to alter the functionality of VOLT to fit their changing needs and applications. VOLT can even be used as a standalone stereo generator. And the DSP|Cores aren't extra cost add-ons; users simply download the functionality they need for free, install the DSP|Core firmware package from a connected computer, and reboot. It’s that simple.

The VOLT rivals the best processors on the market, and with a stunning design and an all new, easy-to-use remote interface, it deserves a listen if you're attending NAB.

"We've packed our very best processing chops into VOLT for sound so incredible, so exciting, you won't believe it's emanating from 1RU. You really do have to hear it to believe it."

—Frank Foti, Omnia Audio founder and Telos Alliance CEO

Omnia Audio founder and Telos Alliance CEO Frank Foti says the VOLT represents a new approach to high-performance audio processing. "With Omnia VOLT we've rewritten all the rules for audio processing and are delivering more processing power for louder, cleaner, and more dynamic sound in a single rack unit than others offer in two or even three rack units!" He adds, "We've packed our very best processing chops into VOLT for sound so incredible, so exciting, you won't believe it's emanating from 1RU. You really do have to hear it to believe it."

This dramatic leap forward in sonic performance is underscored by a fresh new look.

Axia Introduces First AES67-Compliant IP Driver

Axia IP-Audio DriverThe Axia Livewire+ AES67 IP-Audio Driver, also announced this week, is the first AES67-Compliant IP Driver. The IP-Audio Driver allows users to send and record single or multiple channels of stereo audio over Ethernet via your Axia network, no sound card required. The IP-Audio Driver can handle up to 24 channels of stereo audio simultaneously over a single CAT-5 Ethernet connection. V2.10 updates the driver to bring it up to AES67-compliant standards, adding the ability to sync to PTP, support to define multicast addresses outside of the Livewire range, and SIP/Unicast support for RTP streaming.

"Axia is leading the way with AES67 education and by implementing AES67 compliance across our product line, a process we started when the standard was ratified," says Marty Sacks, VP of Sales, Support, and Marketing at the Telos Alliance. "The IP-Audio Driver, the first driver to feature AES67 compliance, reinforces our commitment to ongoing innovations and to offering broadcasters more options for interoperability with their preferred gear."
