Welcome to the first installment of my new blog series, Processing with the Pros.—created to help you sculpt your sound with insider tech tips from the processing experts here at Omnia. This first edition, we're talking microphone processing. Let’s begin!
First off, always remember that whatever the microphone processor does, the on-air processing will take the result, and magnify it. So, a little bit of adjustment on the microphone processor goes a long way on-air. Both Frank Foti and I have had great success with making DJs sound bigger than life with just the simplest and slightest changes to the microphone end of things.

Axia, Omnia Make this Radio Station Royal
Craig Arthur is Engineering Manager and Information Technology Manager for Radio Royal, a hospital radio station in Larbert, Scotland, about halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The station broadcasts via bedside TVs to in-patients and is played in waiting areas and the restaurant at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
